Quern Stone is a specially adapted new build home to four tenants with a range of abilities

We are delighted that we were able to help a group of four bonded tenants remain together as a household when they were in need of new accommodation. As with all of our properties we make sure to visit our tenants and the property with support workers to see how everyone is settling in.

The details

This property was sourced in response to a request by Real Life Options, who needed a new home for four bonded tenants that would otherwise have been separated by lack of adequate accommodation. We were absolutely delighted to help, and after consulting with the residents and staff with regards to the medical needs and preferences of each tenant, presented Quern Stone as a property solution.

The bathroom has been adapted for maximum accessibility, with a walk in bath and shower that will meet the long term needs for residents. The property is largely open plan, with a large kitchen diner and living room, where, after taking a precautionary lateral flow test, we met with residents and support staff who were kind enough to let us visit the property where everyone was at home, relaxing, watching sports on the TV and making paper streamer decorations to match the green and white décor.

Inclusion

We realise that environment plays a key role in supporting the lives of neurodivergent tenants and as such, want everyone to feel as included as possible in the design of their new homes including colour schemes and decoration. One of the residents is a keen railway enthusiast and we were happy to install the large wall mural you see on the images on the left.

The staff had also made a request to transport their much loved summer house from their previous residence which we were more than happy to help with. The service manager let me know that all of the residents had already settled in well and were enjoying living in their new home.
